Francis Wong demonstrates all Shibashi sets on YouTube, bar Set 4 (is it an unlucky number do you think and there never was a set 4?) - there is no list when searching on Google or demonstration on YouTube. Sets 1 2 & 3 are easily found. I am working with those forms in my class and learning and committing Set 5 to memory to introduce it in the new year.
One has to remember that some instructors have their own take on how to move through the forms so there is no real way of knowing that any of the people who put videos on YouTube are demonstrating the forms according to the creator of the Shibashi sets. Focusing on the intention and the breath and flowing through the order of the sets is all we can do. My class enjoy them and believe
they feel the benefits. Anything is better than nothing. Besides - Learning 7 out of 8 sets is more than enough for this 71 year old as well the standard Tai Chi sets.

Hi, Cherry !
Francis Wong is one of the best performer of shibashis'. "Focusing on the intention and the breath " it's what I say to my class. They really enjoy these gestures, These forms, they also refer to Chinese mythology and Taoïsm and bouddhism...

Hi Cherry. The reason you don’t see set 4 is because it is not designed as a follow along set. It is the therapeutic use of the movements from set 1-2-3 combined together to help 18 common diseases pattern like high blood pressure, diabetes, lung/respiratory issues, liver/hepatitis, etc… you can say it is 18 mini sets of 3 Shibashi movements plus other exercises or meditations for specific diseases.

Most of the videos you see online are from people who never studied directly nor extensively with Professor Lin Housheng. There are only a handful of indoor students who did. I was privileged to study privately with Prof. Lin and his daughter, Lin Ping who manage this website. If you are interested in gaining deeper insight on the Shibashi system, you can contact me on my website www.qigong18.com It will be a pleasure to chat more with you.

Hi, Fabrice ! Are you suggesting that Francis Wong is not licensed to teach Shibashi? I don't understand.
Love from Nathalie.

Hi Nathalie. As far as I know, Francis Wong never studied directly with Professor Lin Housheng. There is a difference between taking a public seminar and studying privately with a teacher.

Francis Wong is from Malaysia which has a big Taiji Qigong Shibashi community. But there are many elements missing in his form compared to how Prof. Lin is teaching it.

Hi!

I used to do Shi Ba Shi about 15 years ago and learned sets 1-3. Of course, like most of my endeavors life got the best of me and I quit. As I am much older now, several health problems have crept up on me over the years. I found Fabrice on youtube while I was on vacation in Thailand. I was pleased to find out that Fabrice actually studied with Lin Hou Sheng and that only made sense because his movements, unlike SO MANY on the internet actually are correct! It's not like you can't find Shifu Lin on the internet! So, why is it that all these people do the form incorrectly?? Why are people surprised when they find out that someone they learned from isn't certified to teach? I purchased some DVDs of Shifu Lin performing each set in his living room and I practice with either him or Fabrice. I started to do set 1 again. I am doing it 3 times per day, sometimes 3 times in a row. Not sure if it's "Qi" or just the physical exercise of it, but after 1 month my health has greatly improved! I noticed today that I have more energy and it's much easier to walk up steps. Anyway, I would highly suggest that if you really are interested in learning this you must study with Fabrice. I am planning on studying with him online after I recover from an operation I am having next month. I'm convinced that this form of Qi Gong invented by Shifu Lin is probably one of the best things that anyone can do for their health. It's pure genius!!

Hi James. Glad you are gaining benefits from your Shibashi practice. Practicing it as you are doing now will also help prepare your body to bedder endure your up coming operation. And it will also help your recovery as well. Remember you can also practice seated if you can't stand after your operation or even do some practice laying in bed. Simply respect your bodies limitation and recovery rate so you don't overdo it but get maximum return. Happy to help you when you are ready to start studying with me.

I have put together a folder on YouTube with Shibashi 1-2-3-5-6-7-8 practices from various teachers ---if you search for above you will see it--I also wrote out all the movement names if interested--I am putting together info on all forty forms of qigong I practice

Blessings on your practice
